FILM CAMP WILL INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO MOVIEMAKING

Chesterfield County is a participating partner in the Central Virginia Film Office, which, along with New Millennium Studios, is conducting a summer film camp July 14-20. The Second Annual Southern Mystique Summer Film Camp is designed for students ages 15-20 who are interested in learning about the film industry. Approximately 50 students from area high schools and community colleges will participate in this hands-on training camp, which will culminate in small teams of students creating original digital video projects. Participants will be exposed to the many steps in moviemaking, including producing, directing, acting, screenwriting, cinematography, music, sound, and special effects and editing. They also will learn about the history of moviemaking, as well as about skills required for movie composition. This year, they also will be holding a short-film screenwriting competition to obtain potential scripts for the camp.
