Special guests include Hollywood filmmaker MICHAEL CORRENTE (Federal Hill, Outside Providence, American Buffalo, Brooklyn Rules, Dumb & Dumber, There?s Something About Mary); Director of the RI TV & Film Office STEVEN FEINBERG; director and writer DIANE ST. LAURENT (A Lively Experiment: Dr. John Clarke, Co-Founder of Rhode Island 1609-1676); independent filmmaker GEORGE CSICSERY; actor ALEX DAUNIS (Space Theatre, Jesus, Mary and Joey, Ropewalk), and Former Chairperson of Rhode Island Humanities & Producer of Historical Films ELIZABETH DELUDE-DIX (Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North, No Simple Truth: Reverend MacSparran?s Slaves, Farm and Church in 18th-century Rhode Island). This year, ScriptBizTM is thematically focused around how effectively to build bridges; first, between East- and West- American coasts, (more specifically, between New England and Hollywood) and secondly, between the art and business aspects of screenwriting.ScriptBizTM is designed to guide not only the creative process of writing a successful screenplay, but also of the delicate art of promotion to filmmakers through effective networking and making a compelling and incisive pitch.
