Washington State Film Office

After 30 years in the business of supporting, promoting and empowering film production in Washington state, and despite the speeches, marketing campaigns, news coverage, TV and radio interviews, we at the Washington State Film Office still hear the all-too familiar refrain: "What does your office do exactly?" To combat this confusion and, believing that knowledge is indeed power, we've decided to offer a direct line of communication to the film community at-large by way of this on-line Film Office Newsletter. This newsletter is the direct result of a series of focus groups spearheaded by the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development, the state agency where the Film Office is housed. As always, our industry continues to go through tremendous change. How we handle that change will determine the future of the Washington state film industry. And, while change is never easy, the opportunity to create something new and dynamic lies before us. We look forward to the challenge.
